Milestones & Achievements

A seven figure deal
Visible Alpha achieved its first seven figure “enterprise” deal for Insights — a huge achievement! Matt Sherman (sales) grew Millennium (MLP) from three trial users last summer to well over 100 paying users this year. He’s now expanded that relationship to a $1,500,000 enterprise-wide agreement, driving deep, wide-spread adoption across the firm, with Conrad Rademan’s assistance in picking up traction with MLP professionals in London.

Awards

Visible Alpha received the ‘Efficiency Booster’ award at Battle of the Quants in New York. View photos from the event on LinkedIn and Facebook.

Congratulations to the HR team in India for receiving a prestigious award for ‘Leading Practices’ in Employee Engagement and ‘Leading Practices’ in Learning and Development from PeopleFirst HR Excellence Awards 2019. We were selected out of over 170 entries from 50+ organizations across a cross-section of industries. Well done, team!

1000+ Companies in EMEA on Insights

We reached an important milestone in Insights with coverage on over 1000 companies in EMEA, with an average of 9.15 live models per company. The average broker count per company in EMEA is now comparable to the per company broker count of 9.28 for the overall company universe in Insights. We now cover over 80% of the coverable companies in this region with only the tail — three contributors — pending. Increased coverage in EMEA will continue to make it easier to sell Insights to European-focused investors.

Our coverage in Asia-Pacific stands at 575 companies and is growing at a fast pace with client requests adding to the count. APAC coverage has grown 4.4x year over year and should be 1000+ by year end.

Project Phoenix

Phoenix is our new entitlements system, which is expected to launch in beta on June 10, 2019. Some of the biggest improvements to our entitlements system include a completely new technical stack, a new UI for brokers and internal users, and a faster Excel upload process for entitlement requests. Other functionalities include new reporting tools for brokers to view and download user entitlements; a fast, reliable audit mechanism to track user actions; and integrations with other modules, including Insights, Research, Events and Reverse Entitlements.

Questions? Contact Nona Murray, Director of Entitlements.

Broker Revisions Study — Coming Soon

Ihsan Saracgil, our resident data scientist, conducted a study to highlight the benefits of our continuous model processing, which better captures evolving market expectations when compared to the snapshot approach available from third-party service providers. The study will be published this month.

Client & Contributor Updates

Client Story

With two new licenses sold in the last week of May, Bell Rock Capital Management has become the first UK-based hedge fund with nearly complete firm-wide adoption of Insights. While Bell Rock is not our largest client by number of users, it is one of the first where we have become a true staple. Well done, Conrad, Antoni and Jocelyn on integrating Insights into their workflow.

Contributor Story

It’s been very difficult to get buy-in from management at Keybanc to roll out Insights to their analysts. Instead, we took the route of setting up a few associates as a test run. After testing the platform and giving ‘very favorable’ internal feedback, management is looking to roll out access across the entire department. In addition, the contributor relations team is talking to Keybanc’s product manager about feed/API access. Great team effort by Ben Boucher and Bonanza Chalaban!

Client & Contributor Resources

Targeted Emails for Sales, CSMS and Contributor Relations

Bonanza Chalaban, Product Research Strategist, regularly puts together short investment stories using Insights data around newsworthy companies. These stories are great resources for sales, CSMs and contributor relations to use for prospecting and client relations. Most recently, Bonanza created stories on three healthcare companies: Roche, Gilead, Danaher, Reata Pharmaceuticals and Siemens Healthineers. View the stories and share with your clients >

Great Reviews

In an email to Ben Boucher, Director of Contributor Relations, a Jefferies analyst wrote the follow about Insights:

“This is literally amazing. The QC Dashboard is really helpful! As for the consensus, it’s more useful than Bloomberg. Even better — it’s an additional resource without any additional work.”

Random fact of the day

Is a banana a fruit or an herb? An herb is a plant whose stem does not contain any woody tissue. Banana “trees” are therefore not trees. They are herbaceous plants and should perhaps be called banana herbs. So, a banana is both a fruit and a herb.
