Analysts Revise Boeing’s Commercial Airplane Projections Amid Safety Concerns

Boeing

Airplane manufacturing giant Boeing (NYSE: BA) has been under intense scrutiny recently over its safety issues, and analysts have been adjusting down their 2024 forecasts for the aerospace company. In spite of the downward revisions, however, Boeing’s commercial airplanes division, which makes up approximately 47% of the estimated $87 billion total revenue in 2024, is expected to experience continued robust growth in deliveries and revenue, even in the face of ongoing safety concerns.

According to Visible Alpha consensus estimates, Boeing’s deliveries of commercial airplanes are estimated to grow by +17% year over year in 2024. At an estimated 620 in commercial airplane deliveries, these projections are 13% lower than the 711 deliveries that were expected at the start of the year. Similarly, commercial airplane revenues are expected to rise +22% year over year in 2024, reaching $41.2 billion. However, these current revenue projections are 10% lower than the $45.9 billion estimated at the beginning of 2024.
