Costco’s membership fee income set to jump 10% in 2025

Costco

Costco Wholesale (NASDAQ: COST) is poised to grow its membership fee income by +10% year-over-year in 2025 to $5.3 billion, according to Visible Alpha consensus estimates, supported by a fee hike and a steady increase in its global membership base.

The US-based warehouse club operator raised its membership fees in September 2024—the first increase in seven years—amid efforts to reinforce retention and grow its customer base. Total membership is projected to reach 81 million in 2025, up from 76 million the previous year.

While the fee hike has helped lift Costco’s top line, broader expansion efforts are also playing a role. The company is expected to open 15 new stores in the US in 2025, alongside six international outlets (excluding Canada). Store growth in Canada is expected to be more muted, with only two new openings anticipated.

Costco’s total revenue is forecast to reach $275 billion in 2025, with the US accounting for $199 billion, Canada $36.9 billion, and other international markets $38.3 billion. Comparable sales growth (ex-fuel/FX) , is estimated at 6.6% in the US, 4.5% in Canada, and 4.6% in other international markets.
